Baboons

In the valleys in the south there are savage baboons which always go in groups. The local people, knowing their ways, place wine dregs by the roadside, and a string of straw sandals across the road. On seeing the wine and sandals, the baboons set up a loud clamour and turn tail. But they have already caught the scent of the wine. Cautiously, they begin to edge back, then scampering away and retracing their steps. Finally they decide to try a few mouthfuls. They drink the wine and get drunk, put on the sandals and trip and fall. Then the people come up and catch them.
